Why Should I Choose A Metal Roof?
Metal roofs have a low chance of hail damage.
Residential steel roofing is commonly selected in two thicknesses, called “gauge.” The lower the number, the thicker the metal. Think of it as running a thick sheet of metal between two rollers; running through lots of times makes it thinner, when only being pressed a few times leaves it thicker. 26-gauge is thicker and has the best hail resistance. 29-gauge is slightly thinner, which is more economical, but not as hail resistant as 26. 80% of our customers select 26-gauge because of the frequent occurrence of hail in Morgan County.

- seal over abandoned penetrations, such as pipes or chimneys, if no longer needed

A typical house roof and pole barn is 4:12 pitch or 19°. Steel can cover low-slope environments as low as 0.5:12 (2.386°) that shingles cannot provide.
